A call for recipes....

So the recital is getting closer. I'm trying to decide what I can "serve" afterward at the little reception. Here's the deal: My mom and dad aren't going to be here to help me set everything up (hopefully I can enlist some friends) and help me make the food beforehand, so I'm trying to keep it simple. But I want it to be classy and tasty and fun. I'm hoping there will maybe be 50 people. Hoping. It's hard when you are giving a recital in a place you've only been for 7 months! I can do it.

Here are some thoughts of things I can make (I don't want to do a lot of store bought stuff...yuck):

-Different Breads i.e. Zucchini, Pumpkin, and maybe one other kind?
-Key Lime Tartlets and maybe some other little fruit tartlets
-uhhh?

Any ideas would be lovely. I love trying new things, so hit me with anything fabulous. Looking for finger foods that people can just come through a line and grab.

Happy Rainy Tuesday.

P.S. Everyone is invited to my recital. Even if you live in Utah. Or Tajikistan.

Oh boy Annie have I got a recipe for you!!! This is a DELICIOUS apple dip that my old roommate Whitney used to always make. The only time-consuming part is cutting up apples, but I think it would also taste great with strawberries, which might be easier. Even still, it's super-easy. Here's the recipe:

Ingredients:
1 8 oz. bar of cream cheese
1/3 cup of brown sugar
1 tub of Cool Whip or Marshmallow Cream (I've only used Cool Whip, personally...Marshmallow Cream kinda freaks me out)
Crushed up Heath bars

-Mix the cream cheese and brown sugar until they are well-blended
-Mix in the Cool Whip/Marshmallow Cream and Heath bars

The end!

Okay, I'm not seeing anything chocolate and that is making me very sad. What about all your chocoholic fans? Anyway...a few recipe ideas and tips:

-that apple dip that Katie put on is WONDERFUL and if you want to do up apples ahead of time dunk them in pineapple juice for a few seconds and then they won't turn brown
-whole wheat pumpkin butterscotch cookies (recipe is on everydayfoodstorage.net) they are awesome!
-something chocolate...mini homemade oreos, whoopie pies, brownie bites, or even simple chocolate chip cookies are always good
-head over to my cooking blog for a few ideas www.twomomsinthekitchen.blogspot.com
