Spring Break. Want to know what I did? Here is my to-do list (you probably can't read it):

I went to NYC last weekend with BU to play in an opera, which was lovely, especially when per diem is involved. Didn't really take pictures, which is so bad, but I am not one to whip out the camera all the time. I wish I was. I did go for a charming walk in Central Park after church on Sunday and took the picture below. Lovely, isn't it? Friday I spent some quality time with some of my favorite flute players, went to Lalo cafe for the first time (I still like Serendipity better), and was "out" way later than I care to tell. I will never stay up that late again. I hope. Saturday I checked into my hotel on 46th and 8th (thank you BU)... I think it was called the Paramount... and spent the afternoon with my lovely cousin Melissa. Love that girl. And Jaden was a doll. I had rehearsal for the opera, Antigone by Marjorie Merryman, that night and then went out with the rest of the orchestra (there were only 10 of us). We ate at a lovely little Mexican place (I can't believe I forgot the name) downtown, I had a burrito in a CURRY tortilla (since when was curry anywhere on a Mexican menu?), and my friends tried to get me to drink. Seriously? Seriously. Do they think after however many years of not drinking that I'm just going to go for it? I was somewhat amused. Sunday I thought I was going to the singles ward and ended up in a family ward. Don't worry, I made friends with a lot of people who have no interest in dating me. Bummer.. I really was banking on a long distance relationship. I think having a long distance relationship is going to be on my bucket list. Something about it sounds so intriguing to me. I digress. I spent the afternoon in Central Park and made it back in time for the opera that night. Played well, went out to dinner with another favorite flute player and her bf to a place called Kittichai in Soho and that was it. I took the bus home Monday. Wasn't that thrilling?

And then I had a whole week to myself here in Boston. I love this place. Being in NYC for the weekend made me so grateful to live in Boston. It's beautiful and small and it doesn't smell. So I made the to-do list that's way the heck up there in this post and decided to enjoy myself a bit. I did. Here is a picture of my trip to the MFA with my friend, Chad. Isn't this cute? Too bad the A doesn't line up.

And on Thursday I went with my lovely neighbor, Leah, to the BSO. Heard Hilary Hahn for the first time. HOLY COW. She was amazing. And I loved her dress. And the whole concert was just fantastic!!!! Leah loves Red Mango and there is one right across from Symphony Hall, so we tried it after the concert. Yummy.

Other things I did over my Spring Break:

-Got a parking ticket. Was not on my to-do list.

-Bought a recital dress. AND IT HAS SLEEVES.

-Got rained on. A lot.

-Saw Alice in Wonderland (actually liked it... heard mixed reviews before seeing it)

-SAW DANNY GOKEY LIVE. In a furniture store in Reading, MA? Poor guy.

-Cooked some amazing pasta sauce.

-Practiced a bunch. Recital is T minus 42 days and couting. Yikes.

-Went running outside and discovered a reservoir that is like a 5 minute run from my house. AMAZING. If only the weather hadn't gone south on us.

-Read books.

-Bought my first pair of red shoes courtesy of DSW. Getting a little too anxious for spring (they are flats).

And it was a good Spring Break, though I discovered that I hate breaks with nothing to do. I feel like a useless human being. I know, I know, I am a nerd, but I am really excited for school and work to get going again tomorrow. I always did love school. Good thing.
