coming up with titles is my least favorite thing about blogging

This was my Valentine's Day gift to Allen. I couldn't find a bag (you'd think we would have one after all of the wedding gifts....), but I accidentally bought red saran wrap at the store a few weeks ago and this is what I came up with! Just covered up my bad wrapping job with some hearts and it looked like a legit V-day gift!
Last weekend we went to a deliiiiiiicious restaurant in Davis Square called Redbones. It was a BBQ joint and I seriously don't know if I've had better BBQ, and I'm from Texas. I got the BBQ Brisket sandwich and Allen got the pulled pork. WE LOOOOOOOVED it.

Something that is really funny to me:

I work in the Dean's Office and I've been at the front desk a few days this week. The past two days, someone that I know (in one case a teacher of mine, another a student I've collaborated with) has come in and gotten all up in my grill about some issue they are having. They don't like the way records are being taken or are upset about how people are getting paid. Hold. The. Phone. I had NOTHING to do with any of the things you are complaining about and I can't tell you ANYTHING about them either. I can refer you to people, but don't waste your breath getting upset at me. It's kind of surprising that they would do that. Raaaarr.

Aaaaaand, you know something is wrong when you have your Insurance Member # memorized. Wow.

A quote I saw this morning:

Great minds discuss ideas;

average minds discuss events;

small minds discuss people.

-Eleanor Roosevelt

Guys. I'm pretty sure I'm average. I talked to Allen about the episodes of Family Feud I've been watching at the gym for about 45 minutes on Wednesday night. At least I'm not watching E! or soap operas... there aren't many options at 3 p.m. and I need something to keep my legs moving. I wonder what's on at 12:30? Anyway, I'm average. I'm working on it though-- it's a good thing I live with a great mind who is patient with an average mind and sometimes helps me discuss things that matter (and who will indulge me when I need to be average... Family Feud is interesting okay). Hold on a second, am I small? Family Feud is just a bunch of people. What is happening to me?!!

Also. We generally eat delicious food in our house. I'm pretty nervous about what we're going to eat when it warms up because we live on soups. Not kidding. Last night we had this and it was kinda weird but sooooo good. It smelled like french toast but turned out to be strangely delicious. If you are a sweet potato fan this is for you. Mmmmmm.

That completes today's random post. :)

And here we are again

This is the mountain of snow between our apartment buildings.... Our windows is one of the ones that you can't really see under there....

Life is still pretty fun here in the Stoddard apartment-hold. A few updates:
Allen: Learning that he really needs to improve his oratory skills if he is going to succeed in life.
Annie: Falls asleep once or twice a week when it is Allen's turn to read. I took it to another level this week by falling asleep while I was praying (out loud).

Annie: Has carpal tunnel in both hands and hasn't played flute since Nov. 30 (with a few exceptions). Neck and Back problems are resulting and overall serious soreness. Yesterday I got a tetanus shot in my left arm and blood drawn from my right arm... I didn't think that was very fair.
Allen: Gets to give me a massage most nights. Isn't he lucky?
Allen & Annie: Celebrated our one-monther (ohmygosh presh!) last week. I even made muffins to celebrate and put little candles on the top, and Allen got me some flowers. Who is this guy?

Allen: Was dragged to the craft store last weekend and said that he would prefer to have firebrands placed on his eyes than ever go in there again.
Annie: Started making my Valentine's wreath a few nights ago. Probably not the best idea since I have carpal tunnel. What else am I supposed to do?!
Allen & Annie: Have been going to Bed, Bath, and Beyond and Crate & Barrel every weekend since we've been back from Texas to pick up essentials, make returns, etc. Some weekend we will do something that isn't shopping! Woooohooooo.
Annie: I've been cooking lots of good food this week. I think Allen's favorite was probably the pulled pork sandwiches we had and they were sooooo easy. Put a pork tenderloin in a crock pot, put enough rootbeer in to cover it, turn the crock pot on low for 7-8 hours, shred the pork and pour as much barbeque sauce on as you want. Easy and delicious. We had it with sweet potato fries and broccoli. :)
Allen: Has been cooking up some mean Cambodian/Thai food. He is the master of all things egg related and made scrambled eggs this morning.

And just as a disclaimer: I'm afraid that I painted a picture of my husband as a cross-dressing, booty-shaking, opera star in the last post. He's not....
