Day 2: Isla de Mujeres

Seriously, I look at the pictures from this trip and I am a little bit sad that I've been BEHIND A DESK all week. That's okay, though. I am a grown-up. Let me tell you 'bout Dia DOS!

Me and Sarah on the public bus on our way down to the ferry. We were so busy snapping pictures and gabbing about Vienna and what's-his-name that we missed our stop... awesome.

It is really hard to get 4 people in a picture that you take yourself, okay?
Sarah, she's a real charmer. Just wait until you see the picture of me coming up here.
I took this picture from the ferry we took to get to Isla de Mujeres-- ISLAND OF WOMEN for those of you who need a translation. So we are women and we went to the Island of Women.

We packed our lunches. Aren't they cute? Our mangoes turned to mush in our little baggies, but that didn't keep these two chicas from eating them.

Or me. Mangoes + crazy ferry boat hair.

Then we went on a snorkeling, shark watching/holding/nastiness, and dolphin viewing through a gate trip. We paid $22. Not sure how I feel about that. Everything was dead in that water! Kinda sad. And I kept getting salt water in my eyes.

Rach about to take the plunge. (She actually is, btw! Congrats, Rach!!!)

And you guys, I am a freak. Sometimes I just get excited when it's picture time and I don't think about what the picture will actually look like. Please know that I have spent the better part of the morning agonizing over whether or not to put this on here. But then I realized it doesn't matter to me if people know that sometimes I look like I am handicapped (no offense to handicapped people) when I take pictures. Okay, way too long of an explanation. I'm a dork. This should not surprise anyone.

Love this picture.

We were having a party in this little restaurant after the girls held a shark. How can you not love Sarah?

Almonds and goldfish, food of the gods.
When the snorkeling company dropped us back off on the island, we rented a golf cart for $15 and drove around the island for awhile. I wish we would've had more time to just lay out on those beaches!!!!

Sarah "bargained" for a little dress.

This is us, absolutely exhausted, waiting for the ferry to take us back to the mainland. I guess I should say that Mel and I were the exhausted ones. Rach asked Sarah why she was smiling and she said it was because she wasn't tired. Who is this girl?

This is our sisterhood-of-the-traveling-pants-ya-ya-magnolia-babysitter's-club friendship bracelet photo.
We call this the "Sexy, kind of..." Never gets old.On the ferry heading back to the mainland. What a day!

Oh, and we got on the public bus to go back to our hotel and some crafty, thieving, trixy little Mexicano stole my wallet. Gotta love those ones!

And I thought I would post a few of Rach's videos for your entertainment. Disclaimer: I am at work while I am posting this, therefore I cannot turn up the sound and preview this video before posting it to this blog. Crossing my fingers that we didn't say anything toooo ridiculous. Actually, I'm pretty darn sure I did. When do I not?
